For 48 hours, Amazon gives Prime members access to hundreds of thousands of deals on tech, home, fashion, toys and beauty — two months before Christmas. Prime Big Deal Days 2026 run from Tuesday 6 October to Wednesday 7 October 2026. The autumn event is back for the fourth year running, and the format is unchanged: two full days, Prime members only.
Deals go live at 00:01 local time on Tuesday 6 October (00:01 BST in the UK, 00:01 CEST in most of Europe) and stay active until 23:59 on Wednesday 7 October. The most attractive Lightning Deals usually appear in the first few hours, so if you have a specific product in mind, prepare the ground the day before (we explain how below).
They are the same event. "Prime Big Deal Days" is the name used on Amazon.co.uk, Amazon.nl and internationally; Amazon.de calls it Prime Deal Days, Amazon.fr Jours Flash Prime, Amazon.es Fiesta de Ofertas Prime and Amazon.it Festa delle Offerte Prime. Many shoppers simply call it "October Prime Day". Don't confuse it with the summer Prime Day: the 2026 edition ran over four days from 23 to 26 June (our Prime Day 2026 recap). The October edition is shorter, but it lands right before Christmas shopping, which makes it particularly strategic.
As every year, Amazon rolls out early deals ahead of the official date. For 2026, the schedule announced for the European stores looks like this:

Almost every deal is reserved for Amazon Prime members. In the UK, Prime costs £8.99 a month or £95 a year, with a free 30-day trial if you have never been a member. The trial comfortably covers both days of the event: start it no later than 5 October, grab the deals, then cancel before the end of the month if you don't want to continue. The event runs simultaneously in 22 countries, including the United Kingdom, Ireland, France, Belgium, Luxembourg, Germany, Austria, Spain, Italy, the Netherlands, Portugal, Poland and Sweden. That detail matters: same dates, but not the same prices from one Amazon store to the next.
Two days go by fast. The shoppers who really save are the ones who prepared their list before 6 October. Here is the method, step by step.
The percentage shown on a deal is calculated against a reference price you don't control. The only way to know whether "40% off" is a real discount is to know the previous price. Search for your products on Komparzon, add them to your favourites and check the price history: you'll see at a glance whether the 6 October price is genuinely the lowest of recent weeks.

During Prime Big Deal Days, discounts are not synchronised between countries: the same product (same ASIN) can be a Lightning Deal on Amazon.de and full price on Amazon.co.uk, or the reverse. A product that is €20 cheaper in Italy but costs €12 to ship is only an €8 saving.
